Corfu Post 2/2

Hi cuties,

You’ve propably read my first Corfu post where I told you all about the places I’ve visited during the first half of the week. Nowww prepare yourself for part 2.

So, after we went to Corfu town to visit the museum of Asian art, Spianada square and some shops: it was time to visit Paleokastritsa. It is known as one of the most beautiful villages of the whole island, so we really expected something gorgeous. When we arrived there the water was indeed crystal clear, really blue and the bay itself was just gorgeous.  Butttt it was also so crowded, busses driving on and off the small and steep roads…… It’s such a pity that a gorgeous place like this is overcrowded with tourists. We didn’t really stay that long because of this and we went back to Corfu town again.

This time we visited the old fortress (well only the outside, ’cause we where too late since it already closed at 16:00 ;p). I enjoyed visiting this fortress and because the ‘inside’ of the buildings were already closed, there weren’t much people left to ruin my outfit photos xp Furthermore, we also went to the Casa Parlante where you could experience the life of 19th century nobility. It was really nicely decorated and there were even some moving mannequins. The only ‘negative’ thing I can say is that the tour was a little bit short. Besides visiting these places, we also had some tasty drinks and fries at a restaurant at the Liston. It’s a busy place, but not too busy so we had some fun watching other tourists :)

Another item that was on my wishlist was visiting one of the great beaches of Corfu. We decided to go to Glyfada Beach, since it would be a nice sandy beach. The view from this beach was indeed beautiful and the water was again crystal clear. The only thing you don’t see on all the pictures of this beach, is that fact that there is a lot of trash. I just don’t understand why people would just leave their trash there. It also doesn’t look like there really is someone who cleans it up every evening. We didn’t stay here that long, but I was able to shoot some really nice beachy pictures. (I must say the beach of Agios Gordios is much cleaner, I took the top right picture there)

Soooo, after a week spending on the island of Corfu we needed to go back home. I’m always kind of happy when I can return to my well-known environment, but I’m also a bit sad that the holiday is already over. On the other hand: in a few days I can finally start my last five months at university, before reaching my bachelor’s degree. I’m so ready for getting my degree and entering the world of buying a house, going to work and that sort of stuff :D

Hope you enjoyed reading my posts about Corfu, let me know what you think about it in the comments!
