London Post

Hi beauties!

About one month ago I was in London for a few days and ofcourse I also shot some outfit photos :)

It all started at the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, where we arrived after some traffic jams. Luckily, we already checked-in online and only had hand luggage with us. This way we were really quick at the right gate where we needed to wait for like 30-45 minutes. At the time we should start boarding however, KLM said the plane had a delay. In the end we ended up arriving in London almost one hour later than planned, butttt we were finally there! :)

The next step was buying an Oyster card so we could travel with the London Underground. It was actually really easy to find a ticket machine and buy those cards. After we put some money on it and grabbed a map, we were ready to go. First of all we wanted to drop our luggage at our hotel. We would stay at the Park Plaza County Hall Hotel and after one hour of travelling we arrived there. The check-in went really fast and then we could take the (glass!) elevator to the eleventh floor. Because of this, we had a room with a great city view towards Waterloo station.

Nowww it was finally time to explore London! Since it was already 4pm we decided to visit Harrods and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. I’m always amazed by the fact that there are people who can afford all those expensive things at Harrods haha. I didn’t buy anything at Harrods myself, but it’s always nice to walk around this beautifully decorated warehouse, especially during the Holiday season. Next up, was visiting Winter Wonderland. I just loved the whole decoration, lighting, and the overall vibe. There were so many cool attractions, an open-air ice rink, food stands, and a Christmas market. We didn’t stay there really long, because it was so cold and windy and we didn’t bring a beanie or gloves :p

So, the second day started with a breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant. It was a quite nice breakfast and they even had some basic information about allergens. The restaurant wasn’t that big, but if you wake up early there’s enough space to sit. After breakfast it was time to explore London by daylight. We decided to take the hop-on-hop-off bus and first visited St. Paul’s Cathedral. I was impressed by its architecture and we even climbed all the way to the top, where we were rewarded with a gorgeous view over London. After we had coffee and tea, it was time to explore London a bit more and we sat in the hop-on-hop-off bus for a while. Finally, we went to Piccadilly Circus and we visited some shops in Regent street.

The last day started with the same nice breakfast. Since we needed to travel to Heathrow Airport around 3pm we decided to not visit too many attractions that day. First of all, we took a closer look at the London Eye, Big Ben and the palace of Westminster (only from the outside ;p) After this it was time to visit the impressive Natural History Museum: the architecture on the outside and inside are just gorgeous. They also have a really large collection and you can easily spend some hours here. After some coffee and tea it was time to travel back to the airport! It wasn’t that bad that it was the last day in London, since the weater got quite rainy and windy.

When we arrived at Heathrow Airport we had lots of time left before our flight would leave. At first we thought about doing some shopping here, but in the end there weren’t that many shops in our terminal. When it was finally time to board, it turned out the plane had a delay again. This apparently had to do with the rainy and windy weather. Almost 1,5 hours later we could finally board, but then the pilot mentioned we couldn’t fly yet and there were like 10 planes waiting before us. This was quite scary, because the lights in the plane were already turned off and you could hear the wind and the rain. When it was finally our turn to take off we had quite some turbulence and I was really happy when we landed safely at the Amsterdam Airport :)
