Amsterdam Stories: YSL Event, Job Hunting & More

Hi darlings!

Ready for the Easter weekend? I really am! As I’m writing this blog post, I’m in the train to my parents :)

So, yet another week flew by! Lets start with telling more about last weekend. There was a carnival in the small village I’m originally from. It was fun to visit it with my family and the weather was so lovely. We ended that day with eating fries at my parents’ house. The next day (Sunday) I travelled back to Amsterdam with my parents to buy some flowers for my French balcony and to finish some final decorations at my own place.

Monday morning I decided to take it slow and lunch at my own place. After my basic lunch I took the tram to Artis Micropia & Artis Groote Museum. This time I didn’t visit the zoo too, but I loved the surroundings here and I did see some beautiful flamingos. Later that day I also visited the well-known Albert Cuypmarket for the first time! Walking past the stands in the sun, made me feel like a real Amsterdam citizen.

On Tuesday I had some job interviews, so I didn’t had much time to visit interesting places. After my first job interview I did visit a thrift store and enjoyed a walk through the pretty streets of Amsterdam. Ohh and to be honest: I don’t really think the job interviews went that well. In fact my entire job hunting experience doesn’t go that well: there’s just a lot of competition. But, I’m staying positive and keep on trying. That’s why the next day, I decided that it was time for some self-care and a slow morning. Later that day I ended up at the Allard Pierson museum. I enjoyed the pretty building, old collections and a ginger tea.

Something else I was really curious about visiting someday: NXT Museum (a modern digital art museum) and…. Thursday it finally happened! I’m not really sure what to think about it, but I can say it was very artsy. Some of the dark rooms where kind of magical, while other rooms I didn’t really understood. Well, that’s always the case with modern art I guess. After visiting this museum it was time to visit another thrift shop, before heading home.

Friday was by far the best day of the week! I’ve booked a (free!) diamond tour at GASSAN, visited the Waterlooplein market & went to this YSL x Douglas event. I loved this event so much, even though I’ve waited for over an hour in line to get in (oops, hihi). There was music, make up artists, a photo booth & a claw machine (I even won something!) When I left I also got a goodie bag, love love love.

Ohh, let me tell you something about my plans for the Easter weekend: visiting an old castle & Aviodrome with my dearest parents. And… I’m already really looking forward to next week: my first King’s Day in Amsterdam! Well, it’s time to round things up, since I’m almost at my train stop. Happy weekend and I’ll talk to you next week :)

Keep on shining, beautiful souls♥️

X JJ
