Amsterdam Stories: Cute Shops, Rainy Day & More

Hi darlings!

Hopefully you all had a great Easter weekend. I certainly did :) As you guys all know: I’ve spent the weekend at my parents’ house. My mom bought some glutenfree/vegan croissants & pains au chocolats, especially for me. So, you can imagine that this Easter lunch was the best! All the food was so good en yummy. If you’re reading this, mom: thanks (hihi). Apart from this, we also hosted our own private Easter egg hunt and visited a pretty castle. The sun was shining brightly, so we had a great time. One last thing I’m dying to tell you about my Easter weekend is the fact that I had a vegan dessert at a hotel: vanilla ice cream, chocolate foam, whipped cream and chocolate flakes (yummy!).

Ohh, I also can’t believe it’s been 4 weeks since I’ve moved to Amsterdam! It’s still kinda weird to say, but on the other hand it feels like I live here for quite some time already. Every day I feel like this is the place where I should be right now, even on the moments I miss my family. To sum things up: I can’t imagine moving back to the small village I originally come from.

So, this week was a bit different than previous weeks. It was a bit more about job hunting and ‘normal’ activities. Doing groceries, cleaning my place, changing the sheets, practicing self-care, meditating every day, going to yoga classes… Does this mean I didn’t do anything else: no! Of course not, hihi :)

Let me tell you a bit more about the places I’ve discovered this week. First of all: The Foodhallen. It’s this indoor hall full of food stands. There is something for everyone, no matter if you have any food allergies or if you’re looking for something vegan. All the food smelled so good and I loved the cozy vibe. It’s definitely a recommendation!

Apart from this I also wandered through pretty streets, looking for cute shops. Dille & Kamille, Yogisha, Craft Coffee & Pastry (glutenfree croissants and more!), Wereldwinkel, Wildernis, Things I Like Things I Love, Rose & Vanilla (vegan & glutenfree pastries!) and Søstrene Grene where shops I really liked. Yesterday, I thought it was a good idea to visit the H’Art Museum. It was quite a rainy day, so this was the perfect indoor activity: looking at pretty art from Rembrandt, Frans Hals and Vermeer.

Ohh, I also told you last week about celebrating King’s Day in Amsterdam for the first time. Well: tomorrow it’s finally happening! I’m super excited and can’t wait to experience it all. My parents are coming over for the weekend and they will arrive within an hour or so. We’re planning on visiting the Vondelpark flea market. Well, more about King’s Day next week :)

Some personal advice to end this blog post: love yourself, unconditionally, fully, with whole of your heart♥️
