Amsterdam Stories: Yoga, Yoga, Yoga, Liberation Day & More

Hi darlings!

Are you ready for the weekend? I am! Whether it’s gonna be a relaxing one or a busy one: I really do hope you’re having the best one.

So, let’s begin with telling you all about my previous weekend! You probably remember my plans: visiting Intratuin with my mom, IKEA with my parents and visiting my younger sister, nephew and brother-in-law. And … that’s exactly what I did! I bought the cutest little cactuses to expand my plant family & finally bought a clothing rack for my Summer tees and tops. I’m super happy with it, since these clothing items were in boxes since I moved to Amsterdam. Finally, spending some quality time with my nephew (and sister + brother-in-law) was so lovely. I just love his energy and he has the cutest smile!

So, last Monday it was time to celebrate Liberation Day. Well, the day before the celebrations Remembrance Day took place, where we remember all Dutch victims of war since the beginning of the Second World War. At 8pm all Dutch people are silent for 2 minutes. I watched the the national commemoration live on television and was super grateful to live in a country like The Netherlands. On Liberation Day I visited the Vondelpark, Museumplein and Dam Square. There were some nice festivities and I enjoyed this beautiful day.

Tuesday was all about yoga, doing groceries and another job interview. Wednesday I had another job interview in Utrecht, so I decided to stay in this charming city a little longer. I had the best vegan pie and ginger/orange tea and also wandered through all the cute streets. In the evening I also had a trial workout session at a new gym next to my place. It had a cool vibe and I might go there again.

The next day I first joined a yin yoga class in the morning at my favorite yogaschool. They have the best yin yoga teachers and I always feel so calm during and after the session! In the afternoon it was time for something I looked forward to: buying a present for my dearest mom. It wasn’t that hard to buy her something, since I know what she likes. I’m not gonna tell you yet, since I now my mom reads my blog too and is super curious (hihi). Hopefully you all have a lovely Mother’s Day as well!

So, within an hour or so I’m already at my train stop. It became a new habit: writing while I’m on the train :) I don’t really have any other plans for this weekend, but you know, things can change. As long as I’m with the people I love, I’m happy and grateful. Ohh … before I forget: there’s no news about my job hunting experience. Next week I do have some new job interviews planned, so hopefully one of those companies is a match. Wish me luck & talk to you next week!

There’s only one thing I’d like to share: never let other people tell you the things you can and can’t do. Let your intuition and heart guide you♥️

X JJ

P.S. Fun fact: I got pooped on by a bird this week (hahahaha)! Well, they say it brings good luck, right? ;p
