Hi darlings!
I can’t believe it’s Saturday again! Time really flies. How are you doing? I’m doing just fine :)
As I’m writing this it’s 7:30 pm and it’s raining. It’s been a while since The Netherlands had a rainy day. Amsterdam looks a bit different, but I’m still loving this city and I love the fact that it makes the flowers and the trees super happy after all the dryness. Happy growing, beautiful nature :)
First, let me tell you all about last weekend! I visited Deventer, a charming Hanseatic city, with my parents. As soon as we arrived there it was time to find a place for some yummy food. It didn’t took that long until we found the perfect spot. We all had the best pastries and a healthy smoothie (my banana bread was lactosefree, yayyy). After that we strolled through the pretty old streets and visited some cute shops. Even though I didn’t buy a thing, I loved every single minute of it. When we were driving home, my dad came up with the spontaneous idea to end the day with a dinner at one of our favorite hotels.
This week I didn’t only stay with my parents for the weekend, I decided to stay a little longer. This way I could help my sister and brother-in-law (my brother-in-law needed to have a surgery for his knee) AND I got to spent more time with my mom. We played some board games together and visited a few local thrift shops.
When I got back at my own place in Amsterdam I immediately felt home. It’s funny how something you’ve wished for (for sooooo long) really did came true and now it feels ‘normal’. Like it’s never been any different. The first thing I did after I’ve unpacked my bags, was grabbing my bike to do some groceries. Yes, this also feels ‘normal’ already ;p The next day I needed to apply for a new passport at the City Office, because my old one was expired and no longer valid. I’m really looking forward to having a passport with ‘Amsterdam’ as my place of residence in it, hihi.
So, let me tell you all about the highlights of this week now! I’ve visited Waterlooplein, some beautiful churches & other historical relevant buildings, the Van Gogh Museum, Juice Brothers, Tuschinski Cinema / Theatre and the Kitchen (at De Bijenkorf). First of all, I really liked the Van Gogh Museum. It wasn’t too big or too small: just perfect and I loved seeing some of his most famous work. Secondly, I loved the charming vibes at Tuschinski, a lovely Art Deco cinema. I decided to watch the new movie: Lilo & Stitch and I loved the touching story. Because this building is quite old, I did see some little mice running around the floor (oops!). Finally, I wanted to tell you about a Dutch ‘celebrity’ I spotted while I was having lunch at Juice Brothers: Donny Roelvink (hihi).
Ohh, before I forget it: I also had two job interviews a few days ago. I’m still waiting for their feedback, so fingers crossed!
Next week I’m going on a short vacation to the nature of Germany (my mom and dad asked me, yayyy!), so there won’t be an ‘Amsterdam Stories’ next week. Take care and I’ll talk to you later :)
There’s only one thing left to say: your breakthrough is coming. Feel it, believe it, know it♥️
