Hi darlings!
How are you feeling today? I would love to know! :)
It’s been two weeks since I wrote my previous blog post and to be honest … there hasn’t changed that much. I still love Amsterdam, I still love my small one-room apartment, I still love yoga, I still love healthy food and I still love myself. The only thing that’s also the same is: I’m still looking for a job. I can’t believe it while I’m writing this, but it’s true. Do you remember when I told you about two job interviews I had two weeks ago? Well, one company sent me a rejection email and I haven’t heard a thing from the other one. So, it’s no surprise that it took me some time to process it all. But … I’m back … again. Changed my plans and submitted a couple of applications to some new companies. Fingers crossed (once again)!
Let’s talk about some fun things now! I know it has nothing to do with Amsterdam, but I still want to mention it: my short vacay to Germany with my parents. It felt like the perfect timing for me. I loved spending time in nature and doing all kinds of fun activities, like miniature golf, playing arcade games (dance machine, pinball machine, air hockey table), playing pool, spa moments with my mom, exploring small towns and finding cute spots to eat/drink something. This also really helped me to take my mind off all my struggles regarding job hunting (except for that moment when I got a rejection email on the third day of the vacation). Anyway, a big shout-out to my parents for inviting me. I loved our short vacay :) When we got home we needed to babysit my little nephew for a few hours. Even though we were a bit tired after the car ride, I loved seeing him and playing with him.
So, this blog post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning everything I did this week in Amsterdam! First of all, I loved cycling through the pretty streets to do some groceries. Luckily, it didn’t rain that day ;) Secondly, I did spent some extra time on self-care (especially after all the rejections and setbacks): meditating, practicing yoga, journaling, applying face masks, body cream & scrub, eye patches, lip balm, and so on. Ohh, I also discovered pilates! I love to alternate between yoga en pilates now. Another big thing was: picking up my brand new passport at the City Hall (with ‘Amsterdam’ as my place of residence in it, yayyy). Furthermore, I visited the Waterlooplein flea market, the Wereldmuseum, a lunchtime concert at The Concertgebouw, The Stedelijk Museum (there was a new exhibition) and The Rijksmuseum. I also stopped by two running stores for some advice on running shoes, because I might get back into running again (something I quit half a year ago, after a knee injury).
While I’m looking outside I started to notice it has finally stopped raining! Time to finish this blog post and do some groceries in the city I truly love. Wishing you all a great weekend & this is your reminder to: never … give … up! When one door closes, another one opens♥️
