Hi darlings!
Weekend is right around the corner! How’s your week going so far? I think I owe you all a little explanation, since it’s been two weeks since I published my last blog post.
To be completely honest: I didn’t feel like writing a blog post last week. It just felt like some kind of failure that I still didn’t find a job. That I had to tell you all (again) that all my efforts didn’t pay off and all job interviews didn’t work out. I maybe even felt kind of embarrassed. The past few days I slowly started to feel better and applied for a couple of new jobs. And … next Monday I do have a really nice job interview planned, so fingers crossed.
Now, on to the fun parts :) About two weeks ago we celebrated Father’s Day. I bought my dad some chocolate, because he loves everything sweet, hihi. In the afternoon we drove to my place and had a lovely dinner at a hotel’s restaurant. The days after Father’s Day I visited: Begijnhof, some cute shops, the Foam Museum (with a new exposition), Museum Het Schip, NEMO’s new rooftop square, the Waterlooplein flea market, Rijksmuseum and the Rijksmuseum Garden. Ohh, one major thing for me was: cycling through the underpass of the Rijksmuseum for the first time ever. This was on my bucket list for years, so it was kind of emotional. I must say it was also quite hectic to cycle through the busy streets of Amsterdam, but it was fun and I loved it :) It really made me feel like a true citizen of the city. One day I also decided to take the bus to Amstelveen and visit the Cobra Museum (all about modern art) and De Bijenkorf (a luxury department store).
Last weekend my parents came over. On Saturday, June 21, the On the Ring festival took place. This was a major event to celebrate the city’s 750th anniversary and took place on a 15-kilometer car-free part of the A10 Ring. A few weeks ago I waited over 2.5 hours in an online queue to get us three tickets for this special event. I was one of the lucky ones to be able to get them. They were sold out not long after I was able to get mine. Even though it was super hot that Saturday, we still enjoyed the festival and took some unique photos on this car-free highway. The day after, I showed my parents some pretty spots of Amsterdam. I also took my mom to the House of Rituals for a hydro massage (this was my gift for Mother’s day, remember?). It was a wonderful, carefree day and we all had a great time. Ohh, how I love some quality time with my family.
Well, I’m wishing you all a great weekend! And remember: never give up. You might be closer to your breakthrough than you think♥️
