Amsterdam Stories: Good News & More

Hi darlings!

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I talked to you (oops!)! But … I can explain it :)

The past few weeks were filled with ups and downs, but I can finally tell you: I found a new job as a junior data consultant trainee! Yes, read that again! I still can’t really believe it when I write these words down. Everything is official now and I’ll start on August 1st already. I’m super excited and I’m really looking forward to meeting new people. On the other hand, I’m feeling a bit nervous and kind of emotional. The past 2.5 years I’ve searched for this connection with myself, the ‘meaning of life’, focused on putting myself first and finally learned to love myself fully. All those years I also didn’t had a job (I quit my previous one). So, finding this new job and having the opportunity to move to Amsterdam a few months ago really mark a new beginning. A brand new start. It’s time to leave the old baggage behind and focus on the new. Now I just need to get used to the whole corporate-work-week-thing again, after all the freedom I had to fill in my own day. Well, next week I’ll tell you all about my first day. For now, I’ll just sort of go with it!

So, the past few weeks I also explored Amsterdam a bit more. I visited the Pure Markt, Food For Thought Festival at Dam Square, Stedelijk Museum, Allard Pierson Museum, Vondelpark, Rijksmuseum and read a book at the Rijksmuseum Gardens. Ohh, I also had some yummy food at ITA Brasserie, Juice Brothers, Brabantse Aap & de Roos Tea House. I felt the happiest and luckiest woman on earth when I was just sitting on a chair in the Rijksmuseum Gardens enjoying the sun on my face & soaking in the atmosphere of the city.

This weekend I’m gonna go to Pride Park at the Vondelpark with my parents and show them around Amsterdam a bit more. I’m super excited and love spending time with them! Next week I’m gonna enjoy my final few days off, before I’ll officially be a business woman ;)

Have a great weekend and I’ll talk to you next week (promised!)! Ohh .. and this might be a cliché quote, but: go with the flow and be open to new opportunities & experiences♥️

X JJ
