Amsterdam Stories: Enjoying The City, First Day At Work & More

Hi darlings!

How are you feeling today? I’m curious to hear all about your week! I’m doing just fine :)

So, first things first. I bet you’re all dying to hear all about my first day at work! This morning I was a bit nervous when I was on the train to their head office. But … everything went just fine. It was really an introduction day where I got to know the company a bit better and I received some first basic knowledge about the work field. We also got lunch at the city center (a yummy sandwich with hummus!) and I received a cute welcome gift: a small gratitude journal for every day of the year. Next week will be filled with some studying (since it’s a one-year traineeship) and an interview with one of their clients for my first assignment. So, overall it was a nice first experience!

One thing I also mentioned in my previous blog post, was my parents coming over last weekend for Pride Park (and exploring the city). I had the best time! First, we started that Saturday morning with a yummy breakfast buffet. Then we took the subway to Museum Van Loon. This is a stately building at the Keizersgracht where you can discover how a wealthy family used to live a while ago. After a short water and coffee stop we walked to Dam Square. We visited a few shops, but my mom only bought a cute Nike set for my sister’s little boy. Then we had an amazing lunch at Grand Café Krasnapolsky. Their ambience, hospitality and friendliness are just the best! Ohh and we also got a table with the best view on Dam Square and the Royal Palace. Over an hour later we took the tram to The Vondelpark for Pride Park. We enjoyed the colorful stands, some performances and the overal mood. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, we also went to Van der Valk Hotel Amsterdam Amstel for a delicious dinner. Later that night I was still filled with feelings of joy, happiness and gratefulness.

Well, enough about that weekend :) The past few days I fully enjoyed my final days off. I walked past the Seven Country Houses, visited P.C Hooftstraat, relaxed at the Rijksmuseum Gardens, visited the ARTIS-Groote Museum, The Parade Festival and did yoga & pilates. I also decided to treat myself to a yummy choco protein bowl at Wild & The Moon. Ohh, how I just love to eat out.

So, for now there’s only one thing left to say: happy weekend! And before I forget, some advice to end this blog post: stop worrying about the past or future. Life is happening in the here and now. Go with the flow♥️
