Hi darlings!
Another week flew by! How are you doing? How was your weekend? Are you ready for a new work week?
I’m not really sure whether I’m ready for a new work week, but we’ll see :) I’ve also decided to not talk about work that much anymore, until I find out what I really wanna do with my current job. First, I need to sort out my feelings about the entire situation. That means I’ll definitely calculate a bit more time for meditation and ‘listening-to-my-intuition-time’ this week.
Now, on to the fun parts of last week! The day before yesterday I decided to have lunch at Juice Brothers Vondelpark / De Baarsjes. I ordered my favorite food: choco protein bowl and it was yummy (as always!). It really does taste as good as it looks. After this I went to the Dappermarkt for a public event from Zalando. It was fun, but not that big. Within 15 minutes I decided it was time for my next stop: the Japan & Korea Food Festival at Museum Square. The atmosphere was wonderful, even though I haven’t tried any of the food (I was still stuffed from the yummy choco bowl). There was still time left that afternoon, so I decided to visit the Stedelijk Museum. Strolling through an art museum (& having a cup of herbal tea) is one of my favorite things to do.
Yesterday, I took the train to visit my parents. It was a 3-hour trip in total, so I was really happy my dad picked me up somewhere in the middle. Around 12:00 we had a lovely lunch at my parents’ house. The afternoon was just relaxing, which I can also appreciate from time to time after busy Amsterdam :)
The next day, aka this morning, the three of us traveled back to Amsterdam for the Dutch Heritage Open Days. Lots of historical buildings and sites were open to the public (free of charge) the entire weekend. It sounded fun at first, but because it was free there were long lines at some of the more popular buildings/sites. In the end we skipped some of these places, visited a couple of shops instead and still had a lovely day! After living here for months, it still brings me so much joy showing my parents around ‘my city’.
To end today’s blog post I was really thinking about a meaningful quote. When I stopped thinking this one popped up: when your heart skips a beat, you know it’s the right decision♥️
